Here we go...
"I am so excited to tell you all about the story Good Boy, Fergus! by David Shannon. He also wrote the No, David books. I heard the word 'no' a lot when I was a baby pup. Guess what...I still hear it just like Fergus does in the book. I'm thinking David Shannon's parents told him 'no' a lot and that's why he writes these types of books!
I can really identify with Fergus. We look the same, have a red collar, and have a lot of similar adventures. The biggest difference is that he's a Westie boy and I'm a Scottie girl.
Belly rubs?
Count me in! They do feel good!
There is even a page I think David Shannon wrote because he was spying on ME! How else could he know I like to eat daisies? Hmmmmm...
Here I am trying to look just like the cover. I took all the fluff out of my stuffie and the pillow, so they're not in the picture. I told my peep I was decorating for the last day of school - she didn't believe me. I know Fergus would believe me...he's probably done the same thing.
When I read this story, I think Fergus is a very well-behaved dog because we do a lot of the same things. People might believe Fergus is just a little bit stubborn. Of course he's stubborn, he's a terrier! It's great to have opinions about what you read, right?! You'll have to let me know what your opinion is about Fergus.
I think you would really like to read this story about Fergus. The illustrations have lots of funny details. There are silly parts, uh-oh parts, and parts that you'll say, "awwwwwww". A really fun fact about every David Shannon book is he has hidden a Fergus somewhere in an illustration! I'm off to read some more books and will have another great title for you next Wednesday. oxox, Daisy"
Looks like a great book. Hadn't heard of those. We like Angus books.

My peep has that book! She got it because it reminded her of Uncle Fergus. It's very cute!
ReplyDeletewhat a great read and you two do look alike - love the double belly rubs - that was so cute
ReplyDeleteFergus seems like a grreat guy! I wish he had a blog instead of just a book so we could talk to him.
ReplyDeleteOur mom was the Head Elementary School Librarian in the district she worked for... and she says that she used to read that book to her students... and they LOVED it... She had Several of Mr. Shannon's books in her schools.
ReplyDeleteVery good idea Daisy. More people should real books again and not on the computer

What a pawsome book to start your summer holidays with! We think you and Fergus could be twins...ok...twins from different mothers but the resemblance and traits are just remarkable, right? Mom LOVED summer holidays when she was a teacher - these would be in December for us - she would also spend her days reading books and catching up on her life. We look forward to the next book review.
