Well, we hope all your wishes come true and you catch all the squirrels in 2016!

Buried Treasure

Daisy has moved on from just digging up plants to burying her treasures.
Lots of stuffy parts are now buried in the yard. RIP little stuffies.

Christmas 2015

Merry Christmas, everyone!  I hope you had a tasty and lovely day.  Daisy first had to keep watch on the turkey.  We cook it outside in a roaster to free up kitchen space.  It was tiring work!
She then got to open a present from Ranger!
He's so handsome!
I agree, being nice does pay off!
Do you get it...peppermint BARK! HAHAHAHAHA~ they taste really good!  Thank you, Ranger!
Then, Daisy got to open the box from my gift swap partner, Ruby.
LUCY!  It makes you want to start singing the Peanut's song.
Daisy loves mini treats.  I think it's because she gets to have a couple instead of just one.
Isn't she cute? Daisy started licking the stuffy after we opened it.
This stuffy is soooooo cool!
It's a platypus that has squeaker eggs you can hide in it.
Daisy knew how to play the game and started to take the eggs out.  Thank you, Ruby, for getting the perfect toys for a scottie!!!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Christmas Eve

Daisy can't wait until tomorrow. We've been so happy opening 87 million Christmas cards, but now...we finally get to see what Ranger and Ruby sent us! Sweet sugar plum dreams!

Neighborhood Lights

Our neighborhood awarded the most festive houses yesterday. Daisy and I took a walk to spot the winners. We found the first place house:
They made all their own wood decorations!
We couldn't find the other winners, though. So here's some we thought deserve an honorable mention...
This polar bear is huge! We don't know how it stays on their roof!
Daisy liked the sock monkey. He had good sniffs around him.
The Duck family were fun until...
They moved!
Daisy was over our walk...
when we got to Big Mouth Billy Bass.  He moves, sings, and is super loud!
We hope your neighborhood has a lot of great decorations to look at on your walks!

Stuart Sunday

Today we celebrate Stuart who impacted Blogville with his travels, art, and all around amazing Scottie awesome-ness.  Stuart crossed the bridge yesterday as many of you have heard after one last walkie with his family.  We were connected with so many Scotties through Stuart and his blog.  This wee lad posted many artistic masterpieces over his lifetime.  He would call it "Stu-art", which we think is a brilliant term for his creations.  Stuart would also travel all over the world!  Daisy decided to pay tribute by traveling to a snowy locale, don a Scottie tartan tam, and 'arooooo' for Stuart.  We know Stuart is in good company with his Blogville angel friends.  We're lucky to know such a handsome laddie!

Waiting Patiently

Somebody heard there's going to be a feast tomorrow. She claimed the prime spot already to snooper-vise the cooking and see what's being served.

I wonder...

Who started the digging party?!
None of them want to make eye contact.

Dancing Sadie Style

Today was the Sadie Hawkins Dance!! Dori was kind enough to host the girls ask the boys dance today. Of course, Daisy asked Ranger to the dance.  He even made her beautiful dress for the dance!  What a great date!  Blogville sure knows how to have a good time!!

Oops

It has been very hot here the past few days. So hot, the students couldn't even go outside to play. At 2:00, it was 100 degrees. At 3:00, the wind picked up and clouds crept in. Then, it poured!!! We came home to...
Uh oh.
We weren't expecting a storm.
Time for a new umbrella.

Happy Labor Day!

We hope all of Blogville had a lovely Monday. Usually, today would be the last hurrah before school started. It seems funny we've been in school for two weeks already.
Maybe is you're lucky you had an opportunity to get a lick of pie!

Lizzie

Daisy and I had a former student over to catch up before school started. She and Daisy raced around the yard for awhile, then she caught Lizzie, a baby lizard!
Daisy wanted some tips on how to catch one since she only seems to get their tails.
It was a lot to take in for Daisy. After practicing with no success, Daisy toon 40 winks and dreamed about catching her own Lizzie.

Summer Reading With Daisy: McDuff Goes To School

It's hard to believe, but it's back to school time in our house!  My last book for the summer is McDuff Goes To School by Rosemary Wells and illustrated by Susan Jeffers.  McDuff is the Westie and Marie is the Scottie.
Before I get to the story, I just had to show you this page.  Terriers are awesome and so cute!
McDuff gets a new neighbor from France!  She even barks in French!
So, this page is a little worrisome.  Marie got in trouble for getting on the fancy furniture.  I sleep on the couch all the time.  Now, if this was a picture of Marie getting on the counter, I get it.  I know I'm not supposed to be on the counter, but I still do it.  But the comfy couch? Yikes. Marie's parents decided she had to go to school to learn how to behave.  McDuff's parents thought he should go as well.
The pups had a lot of homework to do from their school.  They even had to take a final!
A fun part of this book is the Glossary at the end.  They show what McDuff and Marie learned in French (with the pronunciation) and then defined in English.
I hope everyone had a fun summer.  Thank you for reading with me!

Flower Friday

Daisy and I wanted to show off my parents Plumeria tree. Daisy likes to sniff the flowers that fall during the night.
It reaches their second story!
The look on Daisy's face cracked me up! It's like the leaves are going to get her!
