Summer Reading With Daisy: Click, Clack, Peep!

This one's for Kismet!  The book I picked this week is called Click, Clack, Peep! by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin.  They wrote the story Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type.  I love stories that have characters I already know in them.  I brought my friend Peep to read this week.
In the barn, all the animals heard a tap, tap, tapping.  It wasn't any of the familiar moos, oinks, baas, or clucks they were used to.
After much cracking, a BABY DUCK hatched!  It's favorite word was "peep".  It was peep-ing all day long.
You know how little bitties love to talk non-stop?  Yep, this bitty duck peep-ed well into the night...past everyone's bedtime.
Duck solved this noisy problem by taking baby duck for a ride on the tractor back and forth, back and forth until...
Baby Duck finally fell asleep.  Yay!
Peep and I hope you'll take a look at all the "Click, Clack..." books!

Summer Buzzin'

It's that time again.  Daisy is a little scruffy and it's getting warm, so - Summer Buzz Time!
Here's before:
During:
Daisy doesn't have fast growing fur on her head, so she doesn't get clipped there.
And, after...cooler, less fur, and wiped out!

Summer Reading With Daisy: Pigs

This weeks, it's all about pigs.  Robert Munsch wrote and Michael Martchenko illustrated an informative book called Pigs.
Meghan lives on a farm with pigs.  Her dad tells her pigs are smarter than you think, but Meghan ignores his sage advice.
Meghan quickly wishes she listened to her dad's advice.  She opened the gate to the pig pen and thought the pigs would be too stupid to go through.  Joke's on her!
You're not going to believe this, but the pigs ran all the way to school and took over!
Meghan thought the pigs would follow her directions and go home.  The pigs did find a way to go back to the farm...
Meghan did learn her lesson and didn't let out any more animals.  Well, at least any more pigs.
You can't go wrong with a Robert Munsch book!!!

Hank time!

Hank came for a quick visit. He always brings good treats.
Hank doesn't even need to jump up to see the canaries!
It's important for the cousins to catch up on the latest family gossip.
A lot has been happening around here!
Hank takes good care of his teeth.
We always love Hank time!

Summer Reading With Daisy: Duck! Rabbit!

This week I present to you a very confusing and thought provoking book called Duck! Rabbit! by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichenheld. Do you see the confused look on my face? Is it a duck or a rabbit?
Augh! I can't tell!! As a terrier, we all know ducks and rabbits are our special 'friends'. I should be able to tell them apart!
Hiding in the grass or wading through the the swamp? This is not helping.
Even if you see the whole body, you still can't tell what it is...right?! Please tell me I'm not the only one who can't figure it out.
I guess I'll never know.

Summer Reading with Daisy: "I'm A Frog"

I have recovered from the 4th of July cake-a-thon and am ready to tell you all about another entertaining book!  This week, I read I'm A Frog by Mo Willems.  I'm a big fan of his because he writes the funniest books about animals (pigeons, pigs, puppies, and other animals that don't start with the letter 'p').
Piggie tells Elephant he is a frog and ribbits all over the place.  Poor Elephant - he is so confused by his friend's amphibian-ish behavior.
Piggie finally breaks it to Elephant that his froggie-ness is all pretend.
Piggie tries to get Elephant to be a pretend animal.  He really struggles with not being an elephant!   He eventually caves and pretends to be... (you'll have to read to find out!),
In the back of every Mo Willems book, he adds Pigeon doing something silly.
Happy Reading!

Special Message for Rosie

Hi Rosie, it's me, Daisy!! I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday!!
My mom made a really pretty Angel Food cake and was going to take my picture by it for your birthday. Well, they had a few slices and then went outside to watch the fireworks.  Luckyily, they left the rest of the cake out for me! Even though it was on the counter, I have enough puppy in me to get up there.
Yep, I cleaned the plate up after in case you were wondering. Aloha🌴

Summer Reading with Daisy: "Bark, George"

This week, I am bringing you a book that is sure to inspire non-talkers like myself.  Bark, George is written and illustrated by Jules Feiffer.  I love the story and the pictures of the little pup, George, are darling!
George's mom tells him to bark.  Instead of a 'woof', an animal sound comes out of his mouth!  Here, George says "Meow" (that's for you, Madi).
Poor George's mom gets so frustrated with him.  He just keeps talking in farm animal speak, not dog.  Here he says, "oink". His mom decides to take him to the vet.
Thankfully, none of our dog-tors stick their hands down our throats and pull out a PIG!  Poor George had all of these animals inside of him!  No wonder he couldn't bark!
There's a little twist at the end because George then says...
Hahahahaha - I bet you can guess what happened!  Wouldn't it be fun to talk in different animal languages?!
