Banana Bread

Some doggie snatched a mini loaf while it was cooling off.
I have no idea who that some doggie could be. Not Daisy with a full belly- no, not her.

Sunglass Day

We're a day late for this one. We already have summer brain and have no idea what day it is!
I didn't know when I bought my glasses they came with a Scottie on them! I just liked them because they are pink inside.

Foodie Friday

Daisy is the lucky one in this household...she won a box of delicious goodness from The Cowspot Dogs!
Daisy has been patiently waiting to open up this box.  We had to get through report cards, the end of the school year, and cleaning up first.  We are both now enjoying the lazy days of summer and catching up with Blogville.
Reilly and Denny had a give-away contest for Sojo's dog food.  Daisy loves homemade dog food and this didn't disappoint!

The day the box arrived, Daisy knew it was for her!
Reading all about Sojo's with the fact sheet R & D sent us.
Picking out which flavors to try with her friends.
I mixed the packets with some chicken, warm water, and a carrot garnish.  I think the Scotties were ready to chew my leg off because I wasn't serving them fast enough!
Aly tried the complete dinner and Dixie had the lamb dinner.
Daisy picked fruits and veggies, her favorite!
She's loooooooved her dinner!
Daisy is a member of the clean plate club!
Thank you so, so much Reilly and Denny!  We are so excited Daisy won and she will happily be eating Sojo's.  You really set us up!

Summer Reading with Daisy: Good Boy, Fergus!

Today is our first official first day of summer!! My favorite part of summer is having lots of time to read. Our local library, OCPL, has a summer reading program called Paws to Read. Daisy is now old enough to read books instead of chewing them up. So, she is going to review a book every Wednesday from now until the end of August. We hope to introduce you to some new titles or remind you of some previous favorites that you can check out from your local library!
Here we go...

"I am so excited to tell you all about the story Good Boy, Fergus! by David Shannon. He also wrote the No, David books.  I heard the word 'no' a lot when I was a baby pup.  Guess what...I still hear it just like Fergus does in the book.  I'm thinking David Shannon's parents told him 'no' a lot and that's why he writes these types of books!
I can really identify with Fergus.  We look the same, have a red collar, and have a lot of similar adventures. The biggest difference is that he's a Westie boy and I'm a Scottie girl.
Belly rubs?
Count me in!  They do feel good!
There is even a page I think David Shannon wrote because he was spying on ME!  How else could he know I like to eat daisies? Hmmmmm...
Here I am trying to look just like the cover.  I took all the fluff out of my stuffie and the pillow, so they're not in the picture. I told my peep I was decorating for the last day of school - she didn't believe me.  I know Fergus would believe me...he's probably done the same thing.
When I read this story, I think Fergus is a very well-behaved dog because we do a lot of the same things.  People might believe Fergus is just a little bit stubborn.  Of course he's stubborn, he's a terrier!  It's great to have opinions about what you read, right?!  You'll have to let me know what your opinion is about Fergus.
I think you would really like to read this story about Fergus.  The illustrations have lots of funny details.  There are silly parts, uh-oh parts, and parts that you'll say, "awwwwwww". A really fun fact about every David Shannon book is he has hidden a Fergus somewhere in an illustration!  I'm off to read some more books and will have another great title for you next Wednesday. oxox, Daisy"

Report Cards

We have had to ignore TWO packages that came for Daisy in order to finish report cards. There are a lot of papers to look at.
It's exhausting, but we're done.
One week left...not that either of us are counting!

Flag Day

Daisy's checking out our new summer time flag.

The day the fountain was delivered, I came home and just the flagpole was up. The flag was no where in sight! I had just put it out the day before and couldn't begin to imagine what happened to it. When it walked up to the front door, the flag was neatly folded on top. I guess some very thorough delivery people brought the fountain and took the flag down (but didn't put it back). Too funny!

For the real Flag Day...

Dear MacDui

Dear Dui,
Welcome to blogville! We hear today is the day to offer you some advice.  Scotties have a lot if wisdom. I'm just a little over a year old and have learned so much! I would like to tell you about dog play dates. You don't want to bite your friends. Bitey face is OK with Scotties, but sometimes other dogs don't like it.
Running is so much fun. It's hard to keep up with short legs, though. Puppies have a lot of energy, right? I make obstacle courses for myself when no one wants to play with me.
Practice adorable faces for the camera. It gets you a lot of treats.
Learn to take good gently. I'm still learning this one. Popcorn is soooooo good that I just can't help myself!
Take lots of naps...you are a growing boy! It's a lot of fun to sleep in crazy positions.

Delivery

We came home today to a BIG box in front of our door. Little Amazon or Bark Boxes are the usual deliveries, nothing ever bigger than a shoebox. We couldn't figure out what this ginormous box could be!

Ta da - it's our new wall fountain!!

It wasn't supposed to be here until the end of the month, so it was a pleasant surprise. I now have to hook up a solar pump and figure out how to hang it up.

Veggies in Bed

Blogville has been talking a lot about green beans. Thanks to the posts, Daisy now gets green beans. She also wanted to let the dogs know about 'fun' vegetables...the stuffie kind! They squeak, can be gutted, and best of all you can bring them to bed!  Daisy demonstrates with a zucchini.
They aren't as tasty as the real thing, though.

House Party

The three Scotties had an impromptu party in the 3 minutes after my parents left and I came over. They even got an innocent bystander to leave it's post and join in.

They act all innocent...like they have no idea how the Scottie got there.

Right before I opened the door, I heard them running and then moving this little guy. They were so surprised when I opened the door and caught them in the act!

Garden Statue

I added a new little feature to our garden. I couldn't figure out why Daisy was barking and running laps. Then, I figured it out...she was showing off for the body less head.
